Support the Harkstead Farmers’ Market
Enjoy shopping at its best when you come to the Harkstead Farmers’ Market. There is a great choice of food and it’s all in one location. The range includes three different meat stalls, fresh fish, bread, honey, marmalade and jams and many others. Our stallholders grow and produce their own food and so you will be able to talk directly to them about the quality of the produce they are selling.

Why do people shop at our farmers markets month after month? One of the most important reasons is that they like buying produce that is locally sourced. They can trust the quality of the food and experience the great taste of good food. More people are becoming aware of reducing their ‘carbon footprint’. That means they can either walk or travel just two or three miles to shop at the Farmers’ Market. It also means a saving in ‘food miles’ because the produce has only travelled a few miles to reach you. What a saving in fuel and resources! Many people are also worried about the way animals are kept and reared and you can be assured that animal welfare achieves the highest standard on the farms of our stallholders. Good food doesn’t have to cost the earth and you’ll be surprised that many of the stallholders keep their produce competitively priced.

The market at Harkstead is a great venue to meet people and have a cup of coffee and chat. Contact with friends and neighbours keeps our villages alive and well and there is a strong sense of community at this event.
If you have never been to Harkstead Farmers’ Market before, please do come. It is held on the third Saturday of every month, 9-12 noon at Harkstead Village Hall. If you are one of our regulars, we thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you again.
